Paul Maguire started Maguire Tree Care in 1998, and has been involved in the tree care industry for nearly 40 years. Based in Moss Beach, CA, Maguire Tree primarily focuses on providing residential tree care to high-net worth estates throughout the San Francisco peninsula. When Paul founded the business, his focus was on the preservation and care of trees. 25 years later, Paul has ensured this value remains at the core of his highly trained team, through accreditation by the TCIA and ISA.
Paul’s Go-Forward Role
After 25 years leading Maguire Tree Care’s day-to-day operations, Paul has remained on to continue leading the growth of the business while handing off the administrative burden to Canopy’s Partner Services team. This has allowed him to spend more time out on what he truly enjoys; out in the field focused on sales and being with his family, including his son, who is also a part of the Maguire Tree Care team.

In a little over twelve months of partnership, Maguire Tree Care has experienced 54% revenue and 32% EBITDA growth through synergies with existing Canopy partner businesses and the time freed up for Paul to focus on growth. Maguire Tree has also stood up a full PHC service line with the help of Canopy’s Director of Plant Healthcare Growth and Pacific Regional President that has grown by 300% YoY.
