Arbor Equity’s Story
Originally from Buffalo, New York, and with 20 years of prior industry experience, Arbor Equity was founded in 2011 by Dan Bauer in Greensboro, GA. Dan’s goal was to provide tree and plant health care services to high-end residential and commercial customers that was different from the competition with their quality, expertise, innovation, and personalized experience. Dan graduated from Paul Smith’s college, is a board-certified Master Arborist, and past President of Georgia Arborist’s Association. What started as a 1-man operation with a pick-up truck has grown to 20+ employees who bring their skill and knowledge to every job.
Dan’s Go-Forward Role
Dan has remained on to continue leading Arbor Equity and help guide Canopy’s expansion in the Georgia market. He is responsible for day-to-day leadership and strategic planning for the company, driving Arbor Equity’s organic growth, and pursuing his passion of advancing the arboriculture industry forward. Arbor Equity’s partnership with Canopy also means Dan can spend more time with his wife, Mandy, and their family out on the lake and rooting fanatically for the Buffalo Bills.
Arbor Equity’s Growth Story
In the first year of partnership with Canopy, Arbor Equity has started and grown a full-service plant healthcare operation, hired on a new crew, and revamped their marketing strategy leading to a 20% increase in revenue. During Hurricane Helene in 2024, Arbor Equity was able to call-in other Canopy partner companies to tackle significant storm work that totaled over $1mm.
